Please note that the game writers did NOT account for individual character birthdays when creating the timeline and assigning ages across games.  Because of this oversight every PW character ends up having a birthday within the same few weeks (see explanation here).

Unfortunately, there is a problem with the way the GS team planned their timeline, which leaves a contradiction between the years and ages in AJ.  In the first three games, each was treated as taking place one year after the other, even though they straddled the new year.  There wasn't really much thought put into character birthdays other than as each game progressed, the characters all got one year older.  It left to a strange circumstance mentioned on the first timeline page where it isn't possible for Edgeworth to have a consistent birthday, based on the dates.

This little glitch continues in AJ.  It takes place 7 years after T&T, and Phoenix and Ema's ages reflect this.  But since the timeline treats T&T as if it took place entirely in 2018 and did not spill into 2019, it treats AJ as if it takes place in 2025.  For AJ to take place 7 years after the END of T&T, it ought to take place in 2026.

This timeline goes with 2026 now, though because of this Phoenix's and Ema's birthdays are now incorrect (Phoenix ought to be 34 in AJ, not 33).  And since the birthdays of the AJ characters are calculated against their birthdays as they appear in the AJ court record, they are now one year off from where they would otherwise be.  So while the court record has Phoenix as 33 years old and Kristoph a year younger at 32, they ought to actually be two years apart.

If more Phoenix-arc characters appear in GS5 or later, chances are their birthdays will also appear incorrectly in the court record, but there's no helping that now!
